The Best Diaper Cream for the Worst Diaper Rashes!

Updated: Jan 26, 2022

Are you needing the best diaper cream for the worst diaper rash?

I've been there. In fact, way too many times. These rashes come out of nowhere and fast. As a mama, you feel helpless.

I think the worst diaper rash as a mom so far was when I accidently gave my child a chocolate fiber bar! It's funny now but then, it was a nightmare.

At the time, I had a 6 week old and my son was 2. We were in the middle of moving and I just gave him a chocolate bar to keep him satisfied for a minute while I was taping up boxes.

I felt so much mom guilt after realizing what I had done when my husband and I saw his first dirty diaper and then the next and the next and the next. I cried as much as he did.

We all make mistakes and mess up innocently sometimes. I'm extra careful about any candy bars I give him now!

Since that was such a nightmare to deal with, I found the best diaper cream for the worst diaper rashes! It's simply 2 products mixed together.

Here is what you will need:

  1. Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment

  2. Calmoseptine Ointment

The reason why these 2 products are a great combo is because:

  • Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment is a good preventative diaper rash cream you can use daily and is perfect for baby's sensitive skin. It's a pediatrician recommended brand.

  • Calmoseptine Ointment is a multipurpose moisture barrier that protects and helps heal skin irritation. In 2020-2021, it was awarded the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for incontinence-related skin protectants.

The two together are an AMAZING team!!

Step 1: Buy both products

Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment and Calmoseptine Ointment can be found at Amazon, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart.

Step 2: Mix

I use the same amount for both products and mix. Don't want to get your hands messy? I use this brush to apply so I don't get my hands covered in diaper cream.

Tip: It's easier to premix both products and put in a jar on the changing table for the middle of the night diaper rashes!

Step 3: Apply

Spread evenly on the rash on baby's bum gently. Do this application process each diaper change.

Be sure to use a wipe and remove cream when your baby has a wet or dirty diaper, and apply fresh, new diaper cream to baby's bottom.

I noticed in just a couple of applications a HUGE difference with my little ones. The redness gets better and the cream mixture soothes their rash. It is the only thing I use for diaper rashes because it works fast for my babies!

I have had great success with this and I hope you find this super helpful for you and your little one. Feel free to share this post with other mom friends that you think would benefit from this!
